Studio Incamminati – Portrait Workshop
Portrait Painting: Form and Color with JaFang Lu – Haines, Alaska – Hosted by Donna Catotti
The goal of this workshop is to provide students with information necessary to execute and develop a portrait painting successfully by examining its two integral components – form and color. Through exercises in closed grisaille and color studies, the instructor introduces information and concepts on facial structures, relative value and color relationships.
Later in the week, students have the opportunity to bring together skills they learn from previous days and apply them to a two-to-three-day painting. Instruction includes demos, lectures and individual critique at students’ easels.
Studio Incamminati graduate and instructor JaFang Lu received the 2012 Leeway Foundation for Art and Change Grant. She holds a Bachelors of Art from the City College of New York University. See JaFang’s work at JaFangLu.com
